What do you really need to survive? Health care, employment, food, clothing, transportation, education, security? What does your community have a need for ? I think we can create jobs by investing in our own communities. Support small business and one another.
Need more money? Cut your expenses. Pay cash and put your credit cards away. Do you really and need a two-hundred dollar phone with a million apps which cost you two-hundred dollars a month? Do you commute? How far? How much do you pay for gas each month? How about a community shuttle or car pool? Walk. Ride a bike. Health care? Start eating right, exercising and taking better care of yourself. Tell these pharmaceutical companies to go to hell. Clothing? Comfort before style. And style doesn’t have to be expensive. And does anyone actually sew anymore? It’s a good time to learn.
Food? Can you say garden? How about extreme couponing? Befriend a farmer. Stop eating out three times a week. Security? Get to know your neighbors. How about a neighborhood watch? Talk to the Police about what you can do to keep your neighborhood safe. Education? You could volunteer at your child’s school. PTA? Maybe you could show up at the next school board meeting. Wash your own car, mow your own lawn. Cook your own meals. Build your own homes. Learn how to take care of the things you own instead of paying someone else to do it.
